Recently, however, the glass industry has been following the trend launched by the ceramic and porcelain tile industry, heading towards\u00a0<strong>thick glass slabs of very large size<\/strong>, from 1 meter to 3 meters and sometimes beyond.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If\u00a0<strong>cutting and laying porcelain tiles<\/strong>\u00a0isn\u2019t a simple task, working with\u00a0<strong>glass slabs<\/strong>\u00a0on the construction site is even harder, especially when it comes to\u00a0<strong>glass tiles 30cm long and up<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The video shows the\u00a0<strong>cutting process of a 60cm long and 8mm thick glass tile<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The cut was performed with a\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montolit.com\/en\/product-category\/electric-tile-cutting-saws\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">professional wet use electric tile saw<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(art. 945EV MINIMASTERBROOKLYN) and a\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montolit.com\/en\/product-category\/diamond-blades\/\">diamond blade<\/a> specific for glass<\/strong>\u00a0(art. CPV250).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>When cutting glass<\/strong>, it is suggested a\u00a0<strong>slow cutting progress and plenty of water on the cut<\/strong>. Often the best technique is to\u00a0<strong>make the cut with the glass tile facing down<\/strong>, to reduce the chances of chipping the paint on the base of the glass tile.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As you can see in the video, with these specific tools and the right cutting it is possible to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montolit.com\/en\/blog\/how-to-cut-large-format-porcelain-tiles\/\">cut large format glass tiles<\/a> without incurring breakage or chipping<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is fundamental to add that\u00a0<strong>the quality of the glass which is being cut is very important for the final result<\/strong>. There are many glass made materials on the market which are very \u201ctensioned\u201d because the manufacturing process was wrong or too quick.
