The FS-TI Mondrillo Gold Titanium line of Dry Use Diamond Cutters was designed by Montolit’s R&D department in order to have a very fast tool capable of drilling any type of ceramic or porcelain stoneware in very few seconds and without water.
This diamond cup was originally created to meet the needs of tilers and masons but quickly became popular in the plumbing world as well.
While the aesthetic appearance is almost identical to other similar products, the performance is markedly superior due to the use of high-quality synthetic diamonds’ and, above all, a specific production process that is carefully thought out in every detail.
Attention to the production process is crucial for Montolit and the installer because it allows for product with maximum and consistent performance over time, even between different batches.
The FS-TI Mondrillo Gold Titanium diamond cutters are now also a reference for some of the world’s leading ceramic companies, which suggest this specific low-vibration product to avoid problems in laying on site.
In terms of use, these diamond cups should be applied to (flexible) grinders with ideal rotational speeds of 8,000 rpm to 11,000 rpm. It is also essential to drill with a wave motion in order to reduce overheating of the cutter. In this regard, numerous videos can be found on the MontolitYoutube Channel (Montolit Tiling Tools).
A frequent question with respect to this type of diamond cutter for tiler or plumber is the number of holes that can be drilled. It is impossible to give a valid answer for all situations because the maximum number of holes is closely related to factors such as: thickness of the tile, hardness, speed’ of rotation of the tool, pressure exerted by the tiler, use of the correct cutting technique etc.
However, wanting to give an approximate number, we can say that a 35 mm diameter FS-TI Mondrillo Gold Titanium Diamond Cutter used correctly by a professional tiler on a stoneware tile
7 mm thick porcelain is capable of drilling several dozen holes up to peaks of 50 holes and far beyond.
